The Collection
What is accepted
The Leland Area History Center collects and preserves Leland area artifacts for the museum and archival materials for reference and research. The Leland Historical Society collections committee will review offers of personal or business artifacts and memorabilia, photographs, documents, postcards, advertising items, scrapbooks, letters and personal papers, family histories, etc. Acceptance into the collection will be gratefully accepted depending on the historical value, size and condition of the item, whether a duplicate already exists in the collection, and the historical society’s ability to properly store and care for the item.
Also gratefully accepted are materials that can be used in the reference library: local histories, yearbooks, local newspapers, telephone books and directories, cemetery books, plat books, maps, etc.
